Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) Cream Cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan Cheese

  • 1/4 cup (15g) fresh chopped parsley (or 1 tbsp dried parsley)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 12 slices of good quality deli ham (look for larger, thin slices)

For serving (optional):

  • Sugar-free marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping

  • Extra chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent sticking and make for easy cleanup.

  2. Make the Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix thoroughly until everything is well incorporated. Taste the mixture and season with salt and pepper as needed. (Remember that the ham is also salty, so go easy on the salt at this stage).

  3. Assemble the Rolls: Lay a slice of ham flat on a clean cutting board. Using a small spatula or the back of a spoon, spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of the ham slice. It’s easier to spread if the cream cheese is truly at room temperature.

  4. Roll It Up: Starting from one of the short ends, tightly roll the ham slice into a compact log. Place it seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining ham and filling, placing the rolls about an inch apart on the baking sheet. You should have 12 rolls.

  5. Bake to Crispy Perfection: Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges of the ham are visibly crispy and starting to brown, and the filling is hot and bubbly.
